We designed the Pop Max backing plate to accommodate different inserts for different seeds and crops. But once we developed the adjustable brush, we found that we could get top performance through brush adjustment eliminating the need to change inserts as we changed seed.

Your PopMax plate will come with an “A” insert. That insert, when used with the adjustable brush, will plant almost every commercial corn seed we can find. So it is the dominant insert used today. The “B” insert is used if someone is planting primarily flat corn seeds that have a heavy seed treatment. The “C” insert is used in some specialty crops and, based on the MeterMax technicians observations, some unique commercial corn seeds.

The primary benefit of the replaceable insert is that you can change inserts when the original is worn. Just remove two screws and replace the insert. It costs just $5 to replace the insert – saving you money in the long run.
