The Power of Visibility
Matt shared an experience that a region manager had with a grower in Texas that proves the visibility of the 20|20 is worth it (17:30).
The grower was running Clarity, a blockage and flow monitoring system, on his John Deere air seeder with a 1910 air cart, applying 60% nitrogen and 40% wheat seed. Near the end of the field, the magnitude map showed a drop in fertilizer application on the 20|20. He knew the seed tank was fine but quickly realized the fertilizer tank was running out. Instead of stopping, he decided to continue since he only had one pass left.
Clarity shows metrics on the 20|20 such as magnitude (how much product is flowing) and uniformity (how consistently is product distributed) to alert you in real-time of potential blockages or drops in flow.
One month later, they flew a drone over the field to see if the one row of wheat applied without fertilizer was affected. They immediately saw a noticeable difference. Another month went by and they checked again.
The good news: the fertilizer plan worked well.
The bad news: it failed where no fertilizer was applied.
Without Clarity, this moment of insight might have been lost. Traditional blockage sensors wouldn’t tell you where you ran out of fertilizer, you’d assume it was at the edge of the field, feel relieved, and move on.
